Today many people tend to think that when it comes to being on a diet, it means not eating at all. The truth is when you’re on a diet, you should try to eat 3 meals a day; but in a healthy way. A way to eat healthy is making sure you try to have your servings from the different food groups: whole grains, fruits, vegetables, dairy, and protein. Also, you can manage your weight by eating smaller portions (see MyPlate). Often, we think that eating healthy may not be so tasty, but there are many recipes that are actually great. Childcare centers, preschools, and after school programs present the greatest opportunity for children to experience eating healthy recipes and to know what is healthy and what is not.
